Course Description:

Proof of Aerial (Scissor) Lift Operator Training is now required by the Goernment of Ontario. RI-GO lift truck limited provides Aerial Lift Operator Training Certification (described as a self-propelled or manually propelled elevating work platform) in accordance with The Transportation Health and Safety Association of Ontario. IAPA, The Ontario Ministry of Labour, The Ontario Health and Safety Act and the Canadian Standards Association.

This course is designed to compliment the lift truck safety program currently initiated by the participating company. The material presented includes a discussion of: (1)The Ontario Health and Safety Act for Construction Projects, Regulation 212/91, Section 143 Elevating Work Platforms, (2) The Ontario Health and Safety Act for Industrial Establishments, Regulation 851 including Section 51 and others, (3) The Canadian Standards Association B354.2-01, Self-Propelled Elevating Work Platforms including Inspection and Maintenance and Safe Operating Practices.

Basic specifications, component identification, platform capacities start up procedures, emergency lowering and shutdown, battery service and charging procedures are all covered. Fall Prevention applicable to the operation of an Aerial Lift is presented including harnesses, lanyards, and how to use them.

A Participants Manual is presented and may be used as a resource in the future. Videos are used to further instruct participants and a practical evaluation is made by our qualified instructors regarding all of the above.
