Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS)
Course Description:
Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) is a national system to identify work place hazardous materials and provide safety information pertaining to them. Workers have the right to know what hazards they are dealing with and how to prevent/minimize injury.
Employers and suppliers must:
- Ensure proper labeling of hazardous materials
- Provide Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) on hazardous materials.
- Provide worker education and training
RI-GO Lift Truck Ltd provides a WHIS Training Course to ensure compliance with the legislation.
The participant will receive the approved WHMIS training guide. A wallet certificate will be issued at the completion of the course.
Course Content:
- Overview of WHMIS legislation
- Information delivery
- Occupational health (body)
- Control of hazards
- A detailed examination of the six WHMIS classes
This course includes video presentations, group workshops, case studies, with a review after each segment.
Who Should Attend:
Managers, supervisors, foreperson’s, workers, health and safety committee members,health and safety representatives, training managers.
Certification Renewal:
WHMIS certificate is to be reviewed annually by the employer to determine if retraining is required.
